Overview

E2 is looking for a Distribution Project Engineer to join our team to support our main electric utility client in Hawaii. The position will be located preferably in Hilo or Honolulu. The successful candidate will be working within our Power Distribution Engineering team as a part of our growing Power Delivery Sector. This position is responsible for performing a senior level role in the design or construction support aspects of distribution engineering projects and assists other departmental engineers. The position will work under the direction of the Director of Distribution Engineering or Department Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical leadership, direction, and support for the overhead distribution design team on projects ranging from 2.4kV to 34.5kV overhead and underground utility distribution projects.
  • Mentoring, coaching, and developing team members
  • Serving as the primary technical point of contact for the client
  • Review work provided by Client and assess requirements of scopes; Communicate work progress, technical issues, and schedule with Client.
  • Implementation of quality control processes
  • Supporting proposal development
  • Leading coordination and communication of project requirements and schedule needs across disciplines
  • Oversight of production work required to meet deliverable milestones
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience working in distribution projects.
  • Experience with distribution design tools such as BOUD (Bentley Open Utilities Designer), PoleForeman, SPIDAcalc, or O-Calc.
  • Experience with distribution design and construction standards for Hawaiian Electric strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Wage Data Per State Requirements

Salary range for this position is $100,000 - $140,000.  The starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
