Overview

Position Description Summary
The Deputy Inspector will be supporting of Capital Improvement Aviation Programs.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties

 

Deputy Inspector:

1. Inspection of structural steel building frame welding and bolting.
2. Proficient in AWS D1.8 requirements. Must be able to work from heights and from suspended beam floats for majority of workday.
3. Fall protection training and safety harness required.
4. Overtime during week and Saturday will be possible when needed as part of the team.
5. Night shift is also possible for portion of the project.
6. LA City SSW Deputy Inspector license required, Seismic requirements knowledge and DIA LA City Deputy license will be a plus.
7. Ability to write clear and effective reports and is capable of working with Microsoft Office and other computer software and applications including Prolog & VEO.

 

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS


Minimum Education Level:

 

  • High school diploma (or equivalent).

 

Professional Licenses & Certification:

 

  • Valid Los Angeles City Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) license for the scope of work being inspected.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of building construction practices.
  • Have experienced in one or more of the expertise areas listed below: -Reinforced concrete -Reinforced masonry -Structural Steel and Welding -Prestressed Concrete Controlled Activities.
  • Sprayed Applied Fireproofing.
  • Drilled-in-Anchors.
  • Shotcrete Soils/Grading.
  • Seismic Resistance.
  • 30-hour Cal-OSHA training prior to assignment.
  • The 30-hour training will have been received within the last 4 years.


Minimum Years and Experience:

  • 5 years or more of experience performing as a LADBS Deputy Building Inspector large scale type projects.

Wage Data Per State Requirements

Pay range for this position is $65.90/hr - $80.50/hr.  The starting pay will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
