We are seeking a System Administrator who has successfully designed and implemented complex Microsoft 365 and infrastructure solutions that improve security, reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.

This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who can take ownership of technical outcomes, oversee IT systems and assets, implement upgrades and fixes, provide training, and contribute across identity, endpoint management, security, cloud services, and infrastructure operations, on a small but growing team.

Infrastructure

• Administer Microsoft 365 Services including: Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Intune, Defender, Purview, or related.
• Implement applications and software upgrades and troubleshoot any performance issues.
• Maintain IT infrastructure, including: operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, devices, email systems, internet, intranet, LAN, WAN, network segments, software, and hardware.
• Ownership of endpoint management including: device configuration, patching, application deployment, policy enforcement, etc.
• Perform routine and scheduled audits of all systems, including backups.

Staff Support

• Analyze staff needs, identify vulnerabilities, and implement solutions that improve IT related outcomes.
• Assist the help desk and other teams with troubleshooting to identify root cause and provide technical support when needed.

Server Administration

• Perform server administration tasks (ex: user/group, security permissions, group policies, print services); research event-log warnings and errors; and monitor resources to ensure that systems architecture components work together seamlessly.
• Monitor data-center health using existing management tools and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers when needed.

Systems / Networking

• Execute systems and network design, documentation, implementation, testing, and administration, and ensure components meet business needs and work together seamlessly.
• Implement and maintain solutions related to Identify and Access Management (IAM) including: Entra ID, Conditional Access, Multi-Factor Authentication, Privileged Access, or Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC).

Key Performance Metrics

• Deliver 90%+ of assigned Microsoft 365 and infrastructure projects on time and within scope.
• Maintain 99.9% availability for supported services within the role’s control.
• Resolve or escalate 90%+ of assigned escalations within agreed service targets.
• Reduce recurring support issues by 20% year over year through root-cause analysis, automation, and process improvement.
• Complete documentation and support handoff for 100% of implemented solutions before closure.
• Deliver four or more automation, configuration, or process improvements per year.
• Create or improve six or more reusable runbooks, guides, templates, or knowledge base articles per year.
• Provide knowledge transfer for 100% of major solutions to improve team coverage and reduce single-person dependencies.
• Remediate or coordinate high-priority security, compliance, or endpoint findings within agreed timelines 95%+ of the time.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5–8 years of experience serving as the core technical contributor responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting complex Microsoft 365, infrastructure, endpoint, identity, or cloud-based solutions.
• Extensive knowledge of computer hardware, software, network management, programming languages, scripting languages, operating systems, enterprise backup and recovery, performance monitoring, virtualization, HTTP traffic, content delivery, caching, etc.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 services, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Intune, Defender, and related security and compliance capabilities.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including core services, identity, governance, security, and operations.
• Experience improving identity, endpoint, email, security, automation, or operational processes in a production environment.

Professional Certifications, such as any of the following:

• ASAE – Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• CCNA - Cisco Certified Network Associate
• CCNP - Cisco Certified Network Professional
• CCSP - Certified Cloud Security Professional
• CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional
• ITIL - Information Technology Infrastructure Library
• ITSM – IT Service Management
• Microsoft Certifications
• Security Certifications (CISA, CISM, CompTIA, etc.)

E2 Consulting Engineers, LP offers an excellent benefits package including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, 401(k) with employer match, paid time off.

This position will pay between $115,000 and $130,000.

Dependent on final compensation, skills, experience, and duties:

• Offers at or above $122,573.13/year will be classified as Exempt.
• Offers below $122,573.13/year will be classified as Non-Exempt.
